And then next year you can take the wife and kids to Disneyworld on your effin welfare check. For me it's not just that the line is spoken but who speaks it. EG Marshall has always just seemed too serious an actor to say such a line. Also just wanted to weigh in on the debate over whether or not Billie says snatch or *beep* I own the video and intend to figure it out if I have to watch it a hundred times. I do seem to recall at least once hearing her say *beep* in that scene. But yes, every subsequent airing of this movie she either says crotch or is muted completely. I've seen this on cable so many times my video has dust on it.

I think (could be wrong) she actually said a different C word and that was thought to be too strong and thus dubbed over.

I agree - Guess I'll have to check again, but I always thought she was saying c *nt and they thought THAT was too much (which it probably was, even for that character...)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. So I'm not crazy after all. She said "crock" in the dub, but her mouth actually says "cnut" (you know what I mean). They should have left it in to really drive home the necessity of her husband feeding her to the Crate Beast. :-)

"I am YULAW! I am NOBODY'S bitch!"

LOL speaking of Billie's lines, did you happen to notice where she's dubbed?

The line where she says "Parker, I said, If you'd just have your ashes hauled you wouldn't have to spend all this time playing Emily Vanderbilt... or Emily Van Buren, or whoever that etiquette crotch is".

If you read her lips, where she says "crotch", her lips are actually saying "snatch". They must have thought it too nasty a line back then, so they decided to have her read over it.

It makes sense too, when you see the reaction of the woman who walks away.

Interesting! That line definitely jumped out at me. I didn't notice the dubbing, but when I heard the word I wondered if it had been the (big) c-word at some point in the writing. I kind of like what they ended up making it. I've never heard someone use "crotch" that way before. I always find that mean and nasty language is more effective when the person puts some creativity into it, rather than just breaking out the usuals in the usual way for the ten billionth time.

This is my new sig. Do you like it?
