Which do you like better?
I think I like Growing Pains a little bit more better. Family Ties came out the year I was born and in the 80s I remember the theme song a little bit but now that is on HUB channel I can re watch the show and explore what I missed. Family ties is a good show I like Michael J. Fox.
I preferred Family Ties it was slightly more realistic. Growing Pains was more sanitized.

shareI'm really not a fan of either show, or 80s comedies in general, but Growing Pains at least had some funny moments. I haven't watched much of either beyond the first seasons. The most surprising thing is I didn't find Michael Fox very funny. Or the rest of the cast.

shareFamily Ties had better balance with the characters. Growing Pains was mostly about Mike who wasn't a very interesting character.
