When did the title become "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark"
This must have snuck past me. I've always just thought of it as "Raiders of the Lost Ark". When did they retroactively rename it?

shareI think on the original DVD release from the of the trilogy had it titled as that.

1999 VHS release.
shareThat sounds believable. Lucas' revisionist mental illness started in 1997 with Star Wars special editions. No doubt Raiders would have been CGI'ed also if it was Lucas' film, but luckily Spielberg directed it.
shareYeah, Lucas would have had the swordsman shoot first

Sorry, but Spielberg used CGI as well in one version of the movie: when Gobler's machine gun jeep flies over the cliff, the original fall shot is replaced with a camera following the fall over a CGI cliff throughout.
Luckily, Spielberg reinstated the original shot (and got rid of the walkie-talkies in ET) when he finally fucking woke up and saw sense.
Really? Luckily I've not seen it. Sounds a lot like the shot in Temple of Doom when the camera followed one of the indian baddies when he falled and was eaten by a crocodile...
shareWell, here it is. Google is your friend. Enjoy the blasphemy!

Uh, now I have to check my blu-rays in case the shot is in there. Haven't seen the films for a while...

I believe it's when they put out the collected trilogy release for the first time years ago. A lot of us on the net were plenty pissed about it. They wanted all the titles to line up nice on the packaging.
