The rest of the cast is great, but it is Henry Fonda that elevates this movie.

Fonda was one of the greatest actors who ever lived. He had a way of making it look natural and easy, which it isn't.
In my opinion, he was robbed of the Oscar for best actor on at least two occasions.
He won for this film (finally) but should have won for "The Grapes of Wrath".
