Is there any sane person out there who thinks that this movie is as horrible as I do? I rented this movie because I'm a Jeff Bridges fan and because of the raving reviews about the movie on this website. I'm totally irritated I wasted 2 hours of my life watching this crap. I won't be so gullible as to rely on these hack reviews next time. Absolutely horrible movie. But I'm still a fan of J. Bridges.

shareI love this movie. I saw it when it was in the theatre. Always been a fan of Jeff Bridges. I grew up near where the film was made: Santa Barbara and Montecito, CA. Watching this motion picture now is like traveling back in time to circa late 1970s Santa Barbara. Although I am watching this now 35 years later I think the story still works. I think this work is underrated.
shareIndeed. Dreadful film. So, so slow and boring. A murder mystery without any "mystery". Virtually absent antagonist with no motive.
So so performances; meh score; good locale. It's like a poor man's Night Moves or a dumb man's Chinatown. I literally burst out laughing at the horse chase it was so preposterous.
