For a change, in Alien, he had a deformed creature pop out of his stomach.

Acting was too painful for him. He Hurt.

reply

John Hurt is only one the most respected actors of his generation. He's brilliantly talented and versatile. I am so relentlessly embarrassed by my fellow Americans. No wonder so many in the world can't stand us.

reply

Yes. I'm not sure if I should be killed or just simply castrated for joking about the acting force that is John Hurt. Perhaps, if you worship him further, he will be elevated to omnipotent being and can strike me down himself. I would be unworthy of such a death but would gladly embrace it.

reply

Remarkable idea. Try it.

reply

Advocating a death penalty. Typical, uncivilized American. No wonder the rest of the world hates you.

Although he was never actually cast in another major film, he was second in line to play a large number of Hollywood roles. To name a few:

One of the kidnappers in Fargo
The protagonist in The 40 Year Old Virgin
Mathesar in Galaxy Quest
Fredo Corleone in The Godfather films
Freddie Quell in The Master
Tyler Durden in Fight Club
Berty in The King's Speech
Kirk Lazarus in Tropic Thunder
Inspector Javert in Les Miserables
Arnie Grape in What's Eating Gilbert Grape?
Wilson in Cast Away
Dirk Diggler in Boogie Nights
Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady
Julia Childs in Julie & Julia
Naomi in The Wolf of Wall Street

When you picture him in these parts, you know they would have been much better films.
