This was an exemplary ghost story movie, and I don't even like George C. Scott.

One of THE great haunted house movies. That moment when Scott first hears the boy's voice on the tape '... Joseph...' still brings the hairs up on my arm!

I am so envious of anyone who saw this in theaters when it first came out. My god, that must have been terrifying.
