I like Conroy, I was madly crush on him when I was 13. I'm also crush with his twin bro (series 3) as well.
Homer is also my fave.

My favourites in no particular order:
Desslok. He was ruthless, motivated by a singular passion for his Empire, and his people. He's a tragic character in a way, a king without a kingdom, but keeps his nomadic empire together through his leadership. His sililoquay was probably the most memorable moment for me in the entire Comet Empire series.
Sandor. The real brains behind the missions. Was probably responsible for saving the Star Force more times than anyone else.
Venture. Was often the voice of reason for Wildstar's impulsive decisions. Maybe not as cool under fire as a mountain lake, but was a steadfast character who made a few impulsive decisions himself in the Comet Empire series.
Wildstar. I don't think there was a character who matured as much as Wildstar did. The evolution of his character was archetypal, a young man seeking guidance from an older mentor (Avatar). In some ways, Wildstar's development is probably one of the most interesting themes in the entire Star Blazers run.
Sandor - the 'geek' on the ship who could fix anything. He was also probably the coolest head on the ship. It was fascinating to find out later that he was a quadriplegic and was a very close friend of Derek's brother. Will always remember his 'men and machines' speech when giving Wildstar a tour of the Andromeda and his "As long as we live, Earth lives." speech near the end of the second series.
Probably inspired me to be a computer geek.

Was totally smitten by Nova! She actually looked like my first girlfriend who I started dating (at age of 13) when Starblazers first hit Boston TV in 1979. Talk about a cool/freaky intro into the world of dating! :-)
I also liked Zordar (not for the same reasons as Nova :-). He was a bad ass with a great commanding presence. They got the right guy for the voiceover that is for sure.
Other characters: Sgt. Knox and Comet Empire General Torbuk - "Are you watching Desslok? That is how you take care of an enemy!"
I had a similar experience with Nova and a girl who looked like her when I was a sophomore in high school. Nova was totally super sweet! Unfortunately the girl in real life was a real jerk and I just couldn't date her. The consolation though is that today the real life girl became an ugly old hag while Nova is still quite the hottie!
One other thing I should point out about Nova was that Starsha of Iscandar looked like she could be her twin sister. For sure, if I were Wildstar, I would have had a really hard time not doing them both at the same time! Who knows, maybe someday virtual reality will make that possible! Yep. ;) LOL
Many of Leiji Matsumoto’s lead female characters near a striking resemblance to one another. Check out Maetel from Galaxy Express 999 or Queen Millenia.

Id have to say the handsome bearded Captain Avatar .
Especially when he cried at seeing Earth again before he died (well he was put into cryo but you dont know that until much later during the water planet war)
Hands down Desslock.
Probably the most interesting "bad guy" to come out of anime.
You have to love the combination of arrogance and transformation.

I always liked Sandor, and Eager, oh and Dash was pretty cool as well, some of the minor characters were great.
