So the Dukes cant use guns because of probation but they can use bows and arrows?

So in the show, Bo and Luke were on probation in Season 1 and they couldnt use guns but they were allowed to go around and use bows and arrows especially arrows that had dynamite attached to them during certain situations in an episode?

reply

Kind of makes sense.

I have never seen a stick up man use a bow and arrow in a robbery.

Dynamite was legal in small amounts in the US to blow up stumps and such until world terrorism gave people ideas.

What should have been illegal was Daisy Dukes shorts, they caused more accidents than guns.

reply

Hazzard was probably a hunting community so I could see them allowed to keep their bows. Technically they are not firearms.

The explosives on the other hand I'm not sure of.

reply

sure. you have to draw a line on whats a weapon somewhere or no one could buy a hammer.

In the UK no one can own a gun.
Anyone can own a bow and arrow, even kids

reply

Seems perfectly logical to me. Term of their probation that they not own a "firearm".

reply

well using bows with homemade bombs that should count as firearms

reply

I would imagine blowing something up would be illegal in most cases. But owning a bow and arrow doesn't violate an order not to own a "firearm". And to the extent ownership of dynamite is legal or not, it also isn't a "firearm". Maybe fault the judge for not anticipating explosive arrows, LOL!

But we're talking about the Dukes Of Hazzard here, so they obviously get away with a lot that wouldn't really fly.

reply

still, I think that bows with homemade dynamite bombs attached to arrows should count as dangerous fire arms besides guns since Bo and Luke were on probation.

moonshining that serious to risk probation?

reply

I laughed at the episode where someone makes a still in a stolen tank. When the boys are in it, Jesse freaks that there's live ammo in it (shells). They're worried about violating their probation (I guess stolen property doesn't count) So they let Daisy shoot it since she's not on probation.

reply

Cinéma vérité there!

reply

No, that tank was called the Mean Green Machine and in both episodes featuring it had Coy and Vance as the Dukes. And Vance dropped the dynamite on the green machine as the General Lee jumped it

As usual you are wrong: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0567165/

It's obvious from your history that you've never seen the show. So please stop commenting on it.

One of these days, I'll be right. You'll see

He thinks that his constant ramblings make him appear humorous and engaging. Just email his nursing home/care facility that he needs more daytime activities such as making birdhouses.

Please do. I can be reached at [email protected]

I'll have to admit that you do have a sense of humor when prodded.

I'll even check my spam folder just for you

Coy and Vance weren't no Bo and Luke, that's for sure! They were merely pale imitations.

reply

They were pretty much the same. Its obvious the episode storylines were written before Bo and Luke held out

reply

can I add. the title sequence where they fire two arrows and an outhouse blows up - that was a composite. the actual scene where they fired two arrows, the arrows just stick in the target. the blowing up scene was a different....scene. I think, in series 1 (?) they used the real "arrows landing" scene in the title sequence, in S2 they changed it to the blowing up scene....or something

reply

doesn't fucking matter. They were still going around using bows with arrows that had dynamite attached to them. Those count as firearms even though they weren't guns.

reply

it fucking matters.

reply

That actually happened in an episode.
Jesse chewed them out and told them they had to replace it. They complained because they never use it.
Jesse's response: Well, we've always had one.

reply

learnt today, something, I have.

reply

They can't use firearms. A bow isn't a firearm.
