Enjoying this again - a possible inspiration for Tim and Eric
I've been watching the episodes of this on YouTube recently. My parents had a compilation show on video in the 1980s which I always enjoyed watching, so it's nice to see the bits and pieces popping up through these episodes.
The humour is risque and abrupt and I've always liked Kenny's style, even with the possibility of offending some people back then and even more today. But there's no denying his brilliance and unique style he brought to radio and later television. Much has been said about this in documentaries about and interviews with him.
But it got me thinking a little that he may have been an inspiration for Tim and Eric's hilarious show: "Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!"
Especially with the way they use the video effects and sound effects and the silly commercial advert sketches which Kenny was fond of doing (something The Goodies did to great effect also).
