When will they remake this?

SW is currently owned by Disney.
A company built on milking every single property down to the last drop.

Their milking is achieved through re releases, spinoffs, sequels, remakes, reboots.
I am quite sure that they are almost done with the first three egregiously made phases.
They will hit the "let's just remake the trilogy" moment soon.
I predict within the next 5 years.

When do you think?
How many characters will swap race/sex/age?

The LAST JEDI was so bad that I never bothered to stick it out for the 3rd installment and just moved on

2028 = 'Star Wars: A New Beginning' (Episode I)

Luke = unknown 19y old
Leia = unknown 19y old (Zendaya type)
Han = Ryan Gosling
Lando = Zoe Saldana
Obi Wan = Denzel Washington
Anakin/Vader = Daniel Day Lewis
Tarkin = Kenneth Branagh
The Emperor = Joaquin Phoenix
Yoda (voice) = SLJ
C3PO (voice) - Mark Hamill

reply

oh god

not sure about Ryan Gosling though. Han was a sort of gobby type, RG is strong and silent?

we had a slight weapons malfunction, but uh... everything's perfectly all right now. we're fine. we're all fine here now, thank you. how are you?

Yoda and R2 - an ai recreation of the puppet and model. this time R2 has stage 1 and stage 2 booster rockets, not just booster rockets. R2's arms are detachable to allow him to manipulate things from across the room

I was going to say R2 is now equipped with bluetooth but I don't really want to desicrate his memory

reply

Lando = Zoe Saldana

Haha. Nominated for post of the month.

I think a potential remake of episodes 4 thru 6 would benefit greatly if Luke and Leia were black and the role of Han Solo should be a woman, and this revised role will eventually begin a relationship with Leia in episode 5. This way more people are properly represented

remake this....

or Casablanca
or Gone with the Wind
or 2001
or The Godfather
or The Shining
or Citizen Cane
or Raiders of the lost ark
or or or or or

why remake classics that are great as is?

reply

There isn't enough skin and naked boobs in any of those movies. Remake!

Ask Hollywood

reply

Please do not touch "the Empire strikes back"....please...

reply

It was touched already by Lucas himself in 1997.

reply

Well, that is true, but it is not a remake.

reply

Maybe a remake would have been a better option. That way we might have ESB in its original form today, unless Lucas decided to burn all the existing copies.

reply

the sequel trilogy seemed like it was a remake with changes made here and there.

reply

The Force Awakens was a blueprint of Ep 4. been said a *lot*, I'm sure

hidden plans (map) - check
small droid - check
bloke in a black cloak with a black helmet and a voice synth - check
cantina - check
blow up what Han himself said was a bigger death star - check

Someone did a side by side comparison of the 2 movies on Youtube years ago and concluded that TFA was 85% identical to ANH. Not sure if the video still exists though.

reply

I said remake, not ripoff.

reply

Come and see my updated ''Worst movies of all time with high rating'' IMDb list, it features lots of SW https://www.imdb.com/list/ls569363902/

reply

Lucas himself should have just remake the OT. Maybe this way he could have left an important piece of movie history intact without painting CGI-graffities all over them.

reply

You know what ?
They might just wait for Lucas to bite the dust.
Then there will be nothing to stop disney from such scheme.

reply

The race-switched LGBTQWERTY+ version is coming.

reply

Always a winner at Disney.

Can’t wait. “Weiiiiiiiiird”
