This is the only Bond film that has a shark

That really had no reason to have a shark.

The Thunderball and Live and Let Die novels had sharks in them so it made sense for the films to.

For Your Eyes Only and Licence To Kill both featured scenes from the Live and Let Die novel that had sharks so it made sense for sharks to be in those films also.

But in TSWLM it seems they just threw a shark in to bank off of the popularity of Jaws which came out two years earlier.

But Stromberg is a big marine biology guy... Why wouldn't he have sharks? 🤔

reply

Who gives a shit about some random sharks. There was a more blatant reference to Jaws and it was a bad guy called Jaws. It worked so well he returned in the next movie.

It's there for a joke. A man nicknamed Jaws bites into a shark instead of the other way around.

Get a sense of humour.

I never said anything that implied I don’t have a sense of humor, I was pointing out a fact, nothing more nothing less.

"I was pointing out a fact, nothing more nothing less."
What fact? That YOU didn't think a shark was relevant to the story? In my world that makes your post an opinion, not a fact.

The shark was pivotal to the plot. The undercover lady was killed by the shark after Stromberg had her thrown in the tank. Bond later on when he visits Stromberg under another name, posing as a marine biologist, sees part of the womans arm at the bottom of the sea floor. Pay better attention next time. Its getting tiring of me always correcting your posts

But a giant squid like in the Dr. No novel would have worked just as well.

reply

I don't read novels. They are too boring and require too much time

reply

The Spy Who Loved Me Novel is the best one. Try reading for once in your life.

The shark was to showcase eating the 1st chick while burying his head in her pussy as it showed and the 2nd was for JAWS to take a bite out of it and kill it
