shareThey purchased two Trans Ams for the film; the one that jumped the creek was totaled by that stunt, and was subsequently cannibalized for parts for the other one, but they definitely did their stunts with those two vehicles, and tore the crap out of them in the process....

You do not know jackzhit about what you speak of. I've driven both Trans Ams and Camaro Z/28's. They did not handle as well as modern sports type cars, but I could maneuver all of them as easily as Bandit did in this film.
