Most disturbing scene?

For me, the most disturbing scene would be the shopping mall scene when, in an attempt to gun down the one rabid lunatic, the police officer's stray bullet
hits the man dressed as Santa right in front of the kids. David Cronenberg even said on the commentary, that scene is for eveyone whose ever hated the commercialization of holidays.

In that same scene, I think I may have found a goof: The police officer yells at the rabid "Stop or I'll shoot!" What makes him think that a bloodthirsty ghoul is going to listen to the law? The only thing it's probably thinking is "Me hungry! Me want human blood!"

But, other than that nitpick, it was a pretty messed up film. It's another film I saw on Saturday Nightmares On the USA Network. I miss that program and I wish they would bring it back.

My favorite scene would have to be the scene of Rose in the adult movie theater. That sleazeball tried to hit on her and assumed she was there just to find a man, but then he got what he deserved later on.

I've been waiting for you, Ben.

Dr. Keloid is infected. While performing a delicate surgery, he begins to act strangely. His wife passes him a pair of scissors. He takes them...and cuts her finger off before sucking the bleeding stump.

If he hadn't said anything, the objection would be "The pig just shot the poor guy with no warning or anything!"

The first time she attacks Dr. Keloid. She tells him she’s so cold, begs him to hold her, then … the doctor screams! Rose is thrusting something at him or into him, but … WE … CAN’T … SEE … WHAT.
It all happens under the sheets and when Dr. Keloid retreats, dazed, we see no wounds. We don’t know what has happened and are left wondering through the next tense set of scenes.

This is how great horror is done.
