The original and it's not even close. The new one was entertaining but not as pitch perfect as the 1977 version. George Segal and Jane Fonda were awesome and the theme song is hard to get out of your head for days after you watch it.
shareI love Jim Carrey & Tea Leoni, they are both very funny. But the writing is better in the first one & the plot is a little different.
shareBoth are quite enjoyable, but let's face it: Jim Carrey plays "a Jim Carrey character" in every comedy in which he appears, and it always includes extreme exaggeration. This is Jim's style, and it works in many films; but I first saw "Fun With Dick and Jane" in 1977 when it came out; and there was a certain "realism" to it which was lost to slapstick in the remake. The remake was simply a different movie; and for this plotline, I preferred the original treatment.
