Such a freaking stupid movie.

Im not going to rant about how stupid this movie was, as the title may suggest, but man, it was stupid. I saw it on flix a few weeks ago at a friends house, and man, it was so bad. We couldnt stop laughing at its immense stupidity and lack of anything that made actual sense. It was stupid but man was it funny. Unfortunately, we watched it a second time and the laughs went away. It went from stupid funny to just stupid. It was like "Dude wheres my car?" in the sense that it only works the first time around, and after that it just like "what?"

Yep.

I'm a big fan of the who, I even saw them during their 2004 tour. They're a great band, but I'm not going to lie, it really is a stupid movie. It's so boring and wierd. It was a great album, but not one that translated well into film. A better rock opera turned film is Pink Floyd's The Wall. And while it was good, it still wasn't as good as just listening to the music.

I just don't think it translates well into film.

Such a freaking stupid poster. Who takes time out of their day to make a post like that? People use these boards to discuss particulars about the movies, trivia and such, and you come along with "Such a freaking stupid movie." Wow. What a contribution to the world of cinematic critique. Get a life.

PS. If you actually sat through "Dude Where's My Car", you have no right whatsoever to criticize "Tommy".

You're an ass. Go watch "Sisterhood of the traveling pants" or something.

You're so normal and snob, I won't blame you for that. You are who you are. It's art, but it's boring for some people! You're maybe too young and you don't get it... well, I get it and I'm 14.

Pull the string, pull the string!

I was 13 when I first saw it too, I've always thought the Sparks/ Underture scene and the Champagne scene were particuarly great.

I love this film, one of my all time top 10. Whoever it was that said Elton John is the only decent singer and that Pinball Wizard is the only decent song in the movie needs a hearing aid.

This "rock opera" was just awful. The only, ONLY redeeming part was Elton John doing "Pinball Wizard": only good song, only good singer, and only good scene. Other than that, complete garbage. I started playing the movie at 1.5 speed for the last 20 minutes just so it would END.

I just viewed the film for the first time (after being a huge Who fan for the past 8 years) and while it has it's merit as an "art" film, I still prefer the album over the film. It just wasn't what I expected. Although the Acid Queen segment and the We're Not Gonna Take It/See Me, Feel Me ending were amazing.

Do you even listen to rock music?

reply

Plenty, but The Who have just never meshed with my tastes. I've given them plenty of tries too.

Hey troll, go watch some movie starring The Rock. Cleary, this film went right over your head.

I saw this movie in the theatre when I was eight and it has stuck with me ever since. I watch it at least every couple of years. They have made a broadway show based on this film. The soundtrack is timeless. The story is quite profound and the characters/performances are brilliant.

Did you see that? She just said *beep* you to me! *beep* you too, you whore!

I was born in 1991 and this was the first movie my parents exposed me too. This movie was also the first time I had ever heard music in my life, or at least as far as I can remember. I was perhaps, around four, and even know as a 17 year old, I still marvel at how eye-opening and amazing this film is. This was a film about spiritual awakenings and how, when everyone abandons you, you still can learn and forge on. The scenes that I always love to watch are: "Pinball Wizard", "Smash the Mirror", "Champagne", "Christmas," "We're Not Gonna Take It," and, of course, the very ending: "See Me, Feel Me/ Listening To You". I'll always thank my parents for making this the very first movie I laid eyes on. I don't see why people would call this a "dumb movie". That's not right.

PS: Whoever dared to compare this movie to "Dude, Where's My Car?", I wish Alferd Packer would come back from the grave and eat you!
