shareWell, it definitely does contain enough material and shock value in it to offend the tastes of ordinary movie goers. It will indeed be too much for a lot of viewers content wise. With scenes of violence, murder, sexuality and also sexual violence, torture, degradation, some taboo scenes of coprophilia etc indeed, a lot of people aren't ready for this type of movie.

shareWho do you say doesn't have the cajones to sit through Saló? Back in my day, everybody read the Marquis de Sade and we all loved the Marxist interpretation Passolini gave to 120 Days of Sodom. My friends and I sometimes have coprophagic parties to honor both de Sade and Passolini.
shareIn addition to shock value and provocative as well as adult material, maybe one of the issues would be that some viewers may MISUNDERSTAND the movie, including the reasons and purposes that it was made and had those scenes included.
