Mine was when Garber says to the undercover officer lying face down 'Sorry Miss'... (or something like that)

Yeah, that's how it was back then. The hippy thing. __
Sorry it took a year to answer :)
That flick is a classic. But it was more 'freak' era than hippy era. NYC 70's was the freak era, with the punks about to come right after. Hippies were pre-disillusionment (before the deaths of Martin, Bobby and John.)
shareHere in The English Midlands I never tire of watching this film about New York. Here are three of my favourites lines.
As the policemen with the sack of money we’re walking towards the train the one said to his mate “Four sub machine guns in front of us and all these jokers behind. I feel like I’m walking into the effing OK Corral.”
“Listen to me you dumb sonofabitch if you don’t do what I tell you you’ll be having dinner tonight with Caz Dalovicz”.
“Hey dude. Long as you’re going downtown would you mind dropping me off at Fulton Street?”
Walter Matthau: Somebody down there knows how to drive a subway train, you don't pick that up watching Sesame Street.
Dick O'Neil: "Screw the goddam passengers! What the hell do they expect for their lousy 35 cents? To live forever?"
share I've watched it again recently and there are too many lines to pick just one!
Zach Garber describing Rico Patrone to their Japanese guests. "On weekends he works for the Mafia."
Anything the feverish mayor said. If he went downtown, "I'll get booed."
His wife's assurance that if he paid the ransom, he could be sure of one thing, "18 sure votes."
Passenger: May I get by, please?
Hijacker: No; you don't want to go in there.
P: Suppose I do anyway?
H: Then I'll shoot your pee-pee off.
You're a sick man, Rico.
shareI love when the cops are rushing the money to the station and the driver says "I always wanted to do this, look we're scaring the shit outta everybody!"
and when jerry stiller gets the news about the hijacking and says "you know me, I'll believe anything", followed immediately by "I don't believe it".
those bits really had me laughing out loud
