About the comedic comedic whistle sound effect on the car stunt

Everybody - including me- is still complaining about that stupid idea to add a sound effect to that beautiful stunt.

I don't know a single person who enjoyed that mistake.

So...after 40 years, wouldn't it be possible to just take that off the new DVD editions and forget about that mess ????

I mean, it's not like it was a line of dialogue or about the appearance of a character....
It's just a sound effect that can be removed easily.

If there was a version released without it, I'd be okay with that, but I think that theatrical versions of things should be preserved just because I get nervous about erasing stuff just because it didn't fly. We (audiences) might focus-group whole swathes of art out of existence were that the case. But I bet it wouldn't be hard to have a little "slide whistle on/off switch on a DVD".

That gives me an idea.

The next Bond or MI movie that comes out in the theater, I will bring a slide whistle.

By the third showing, I will have the timing just right.
