Why the self-righteous over-reaction? Sick is not necessarily "degrading." I find Blue Velvet, Freaks and Night of the Living Dead to have a sick perspective, but I agree with many that they are masterpieces. Indeed, the whole genre of Grand Guignol is "sick." And many of us who work with illness and death often have a "sick" sense of humor. I worked in AIDS when it was still a death sentence and AIDS jokes were common. I've heard the same among the police, coroners, funeral home directors, etc. It's a form of catharsis, a way to release internal fears and stress. I certainly don't feel degraded if someone said I had a "sick sense of humor" (that is, of course, separate from the possibility that the targets of our jokes might feel degraded). I think you need to learn the definition of "degrading" before jumping on your ridiculous soapbox.
