Killing of Roth
Rocco said, "Difficult but not impossible." A crowded airport open to the public. Only a handful of guards. Yes, difficult to come out of it alive but killing seemed relativity easy. Thoughts?
shareI think that's what he was implying. You can kill him, but whoever does it probably won't make it. How they convinced some rube to take the fall would have been an interesting scene.
shareIt's been a while since I've seen this but didn't Rocco do it himself? I've always wondered why they didn't get some rube to do it and instead sent one of the organisation's most senior men to certain death (or worse, capture and trial)? Perhaps in retribution for him not preventing the attempt on Michael's life at the beginning of the film?
shareYes, it was Rocco himself, not just "some rube". It did seem a strange choice, but maybe they needed someone good and I mean very good to take Roth out.
shareThat WAS Rocco? I honestly didn't recognize him. That really is a strange choice, considering he's likely been seen in Michael's employ and can easily be tied to him.
shareYeah it was Rocco (the same guy who killed Tattaglia in the first film) and he just took one for the team.
shareI could have sworn, not in the movie but maybe in one of the books, that it was implied that Rocco was terminally ill and wanted to "go out with a bang" so to speak. I will have to go back and read the books again.
