Finished the entire series. My opinion...

1] Magnum Force (for me it had the best action sequences and the best villains...kept me on the edge of my seat)

2] Dirty Harry (great introduction to Harry...great villain...great commentary...best part was the marathon through San Francisco in the middle of the night...however, at times the pacing was lacking and the movie is a tad bit dated)

3] Sudden Impact (intense even after the mystery is revealed to the audience...great final opening action sequence-"go ahead, make my day"-and great final action sequence-the carousel...I'm slightly conflicted about Harry's decision at the end of the film)

4] The Enforcer (interaction between Clint and Tyne was great, but overall the film was paced poorly and villains were over-the-top and lame...only slightly better than "The Dead Pool")

5] The Dead Pool (Clint was great as ever, but the storyline was kind of predictable...the "car chase" was good and I liked his partner, but overall just sort of a mess)

First off, I enjoyed all five films. I just finished watching them all on AMC this week and here is my five in order. I don't think anyone else picked the five in the order I picked.

1.Dirty Harry(1971)-Hard to beat. Great cast, Clint looked great, Best bad guy and scumiest bad guy ever. And who can forget the football field scene(Loved it when he put pressure on his wounded leg and said "Where's the girl?". Also the ending action sequence is second to none.

2.Dead Pool(1988)-It surprised me how much I liked this film. The main cast is great. Loved his partner. loved the woman reporter and his pal on the force. Also loved the mini car chase. A true highlight.

3.The Enforcer(1976)-Another solid film because of the bond that happens between Clint and Tyne. The final scene is very touching.

4.Magnum Force(1973)-Very good sequel to Dirty Harry. All four of the killer cops are good in their roles. I wish they had more screen time. Did not care a lot for Hal Holbrook. Did not care for the scene where David Soul flies off into the ocean. No way did he die from that fall.

5.Sudden Impact(1983)-Another very good film even though it comes in last on my list. It has special meaning to me because I vacationed in Santa Cruz every year for about 25 years of my life. The beach scene was our beach! The final scene on was on my Boardwalk! The writing was very good and the flashback scenes made the story work. The only problem was Sondra Locke. She did not do the best job delivering her lines. Almost like she was drunk. I loved her in The Gauntlet, so it's not that I dislike her.
