Peckinpah's best

This is my favorite movie that he ever did. Such a great movie. Better than most action movies that come out today imo.

Nobody as any thoughts on this awesome movie?

I thought it was pretty good. The editing was very interesting. It felt like you were inside the director's mind at times.

At the time, a lot of us thought that The Wild Bunch was the best. I still do.

One reason: Peckinpah was given all the money he wanted and all the time he wanted to film the climactic 'Battle of Bloody Porch" massacre gunbattle in The Wild Bunch, and the problem became...Peckinpah never quite got that money and time and freedom again to film action. The final shoot out in The Getaway is good...but not at Wild Bunch level.

Also...Ali MacGraw is not in The Wild Bunch.

Sorry, nope. I love this film but The Wild Bunch is a masterpiece and Sam's magnum opus.

not even top 3

It's a great film, but I'd place 'The Wild Bunch', 'Pat Garrett And Billy The Kid', 'Cross Of Iron' (or even 'The Ballad Of Cable Hogue') over 'The Getaway'

reply

NEVER much cared for "Pat Garrett and the Kid"
I like your other choices

Sam Thought "Cable Hogue" was his best
