I'd say you've got the order spot on! Like you, I didn't care for, "I Am Legend" in the least! Too many computer generated images, which made the creatures look like cartoon characters!

only on rare occasions doesn't the soundtrack seem a bit misplaced, maybe it's cause i've seen the movie so many times that i've picked up on it and that it actually works great, but i think at just a few places, maybe only once or twice, the background music doesn't seem to fit in the scene at times. this is my favorite movie of this story being filmed, but i remember also getting hooked on the vincent price movie, but the dog bit put me off watching it again... well besides the movies it was also sort of the pilot to the twilight zone tv series, notice also in that episode him seeing a book titled "last man on earth", i loved the actor's performance in that and didn't understand why he criticized himself so much on the dvd commentary. i was a bit surprised recently realising this movie version get some bad movie critic reviews, maybe it's just not for everybody.

its too dangerous out there darlin for me to let you go home alone,
said she needed a big stupid guard dog,
pray for this place,
no longer the innocent old days,
look away i don't want you to see,
i won't ever tell what you missed on these streets,
all i know,
i won't let you go out alone.

Wow! I didn't even know that was a thing. Hmm. Guess I'll try and track it down now. I mean with a rating of 3.3/10, it's clearly a quality adaptation...totally.

But in all seriousness have you seen it? I'm really curious about it now!

I Am Omega was SyFy's cheap knock off of I Am Legend when it came out. They did the same with their version of War of the Worlds (featuring C Thomas Howell)...,both movies were Horrible! I could not get through I Am Omega....

1. The Last Man On Earth. I agree with those who compare it to Night Of The Living Dead and Carnival Of Souls. The images of Vincent Price collecting bodies, throwing them in a big pit and setting them on fire is truly gruesome and terrifying.

2. The Omega Man. A bit cheesy but it does generate a real sense of dread. And it has the best musical score of the three.

3. I Am Legend. I wanted to like it, but those lame CGI creatures ruined it for me. They weren't menacing at all.

In the past I've always said 'The Last Man On Earth' because I like Vincent Price so much. But, having just seen this one, I do like Charlton Heston's humour so now I feel compromised.
