How long before they ban it?
Apparently some tv-shows with police in it are pulled because of police brutality. With Dirty Harry being the least politically correct depiction of a police officer I don't doubt that there will be calls.

shareLuckily I still have my Dirty Harrys on blu-ray. Situation like this just shows hazards of streaming services.
shareWise move to have these on disc; I do, as well. Regarding the OP, there are lots of movies/TV shows the PC police will come after. These came to mind right away:
*Gone With the Wind
*Blazing Saddles
*The entire series of Charlie Chan movies
*All In the Family

I wasn't as big of a fan of Dirty Harry (only seen this first one once and none of the others) but I have a feeling the next Arnold Schwarzenegger movie to get attacked by far leftists is Red Heat. I think it's bullcrap someone said Kindergarten Cop was an offensive film that has police brutality in it when Red Heat has a Russian Cop breaking the law in America by brutalizing a prisoner in a police station and also kills his fellow Russian criminals. I like Red Heat and have it on DVD (it's also not very expensive to get a used DVD either). But I do find it stupid so many people are so offended by older movies and want these older movies to be against the law to view. They're all a bunch of fascists in my opinion. They think their opinions matter more than the majority of people. And stupidly a lot of people in authority are giving into them.

Fucken hot dog eaters. They really toast my buns!
shareI think it's hysterical that people think that this movie is anti-PC fodder.
Dirty Harry actually is anti-police, anti-legal system and anti-authoritarian, not conservative. This is the movie that taught the public to no longer believe in traditional law enforcement and the judicial system and to look to vigilantism as an alternative.
Clint Eastwood pushes this same bullshit message again and again in every single one of this movies (for example, Gene Hackman's sheriff character in Unforgiven and the NTSB demonized as evil in the movie, Sully). I'm not sure why people are so keen on worrying about it being martyred as a victim of political correctness. What is it about the movie that's worth protecting? Again, like all of Eastwood's movies, it's about eroding the public's faith in America's legal and criminal justice system, telling people, "You know what? These cops, judges, etc. don't know diddly, so it's okay if you ignore things like due process, a fair trial."
I don’t think it’ll ever be banned.
shareIn Magnum Force he went against corrupt cops.

How about that it was an exceedingly well-directed, atmospheric modern day classic that rallied vast audiences around the world, and made historic changes to the role of hero and villain in the American crime thriller?
