BRING ON THE DVD!

I found a Widescreen Uncut VHS around, which made me think ANCHOR BAY! WHERE IS THE DVD!

I recently decided to watch all of Argento's films, in order. I was amazed at how involving and suspensful BIRD and CAT were. I was eagar to see 4 FLIES. But Netflix didn't have it. No one does! Now I see its because its not availble. What are they waiting for? I don't want to see it for the first time on crappy, blurry VHS. I guess I'll wait.

This is the only Argento film I've never seen ! There must be legal problems preventing this from a dvd release, so many people would buy this if it ever comes out. Please Blue Underground get this out.

Anchor Bay is far from dead, did you see some of the new DVD’s. The Re-Animator DVD was just amazing. They also put out Phantasm III in the US for the first time and put out a new DVD for the original PHANTASM. They also have the rights to most of Argento’s films. So, I would really like to see them put it out on DVD before anyone else.

Not that I would ordinarily promote this kind of thing, but in this case I feel that it is justified as currently the only option is poor quality copies. There is a copy of the French version currently on YouTube. I'm not sure if its uncut or anything and don't know how long it will last there. Sound and picture qulaity isn't good but isn't that bad. If you have been waiting to see this film for as long as I had (about 25 years) then give it a go as it may be your only chance! By the way, the ending with the 1,000 fps camera is difficult to appreciate in this format, however the final scene is still another Argento tour de force.

UPDATE: Earlier this year, 4 FLIES was releases to DVD and I watched it (thanks to Netflix.) Very entertaining! I have some minor complaints but overall, it was thrilling and engrossing. It's far superior to Argento's disappointing films from the past two decades.

A region free DVD release is available via www.xploitedcinema.com

I've found a copy on line, once again I don't know if it's cut or not, but if you search it's there. I don't want to get anyone in trouble by putting a link up, but if you search it you can find it.

I've been waiting for this and Phenomenon on a R1 forever. Us Lynch fans are finally getting our R1 Lost Highway release this Tuesday!

Paramount owns the rights.

If you have the rights to a movie, then you can release it. Why the hell is Anchor Bay and Blue Underground involved?

But until they finally do, I guess we'll have to settle for imports, DVD-R's of the so-so quality, and such. I actually DL'ed this film off of CinemaGeddon and burned it with the latest version of ConvertXtoDVD with some trailers (the trailer, Bird with the Crystal Plumage trailer, Cat O' Nine Tails, and the Int'l trailer for Opera) and a Dario Argento interview from BBC, all DL'ed from YouTube (courtesy of the latest version of RealPlayer).

It is now available through Shameless.
