Thank God it's been nearly three years since the subject of a 'remake' of this film came up.
Heaven forfend! Wasn't the original tawdry enough for several lifetimes?
I think a remake would be hard to cast because for me I can really imagine other people to play the parts but if i had to choose maybe i would choose claire danes (stardust) or olivia thirlby (juno)for jenny and maybe jon foster (stay alive) or some other guy
shareI actually thought a more up-to-date remake would be a good idea. Definitely Camilla Belle for Jenny. She has the same dark beauty that Ann Hathaway does not have. Ali MacGraw was known more for her naturally good looks than her acting. Belle has the same natural beauty. Anyway, I would try to cast Sebastian Stan (played Chase Collins in The Convenant) for Oliver. He has the handsome Ivy League charm....
For the father of Oliver, Daniel Day Lewis. For the father of Jenny-- Dan Hedaya.
Yep! And I would also cut out the cheesy hippy swear words and change the dialogue to a more 21st century motif, but I would keep all the rest...even their decency in filming the love scene.
There is no need of a remake, but if this were the case, I would choose Anne hathaway, jennifer connelly or Winona Ryder. As for the male actor, who has the looks and the acting?? perhaps Leonardo di caprio
ubi dubium ibi libertas
For the female lead Kirsten Dunst or Claire Danes.
Not sure about the male... Michael Cera maybe? :)
What about Liam Hemsworth and Emma Stone. They are fresh faces wit ha lot of talent I guess they can pull it off.
"Whatever didn't kill you... it's because it didn't work."
Emma Stone! I quite like that idea. But what about Nathalie Portman? She can be fierce and she can be nerdy and she can be sweet. I would choose her, I guess. And ahh, if Heath Ledger was still amongst us.. He would be splendid.
Or, thought just popped up: Carey Mulligan! I think she would be great as Jenny :). Yes, I'd definitely go for Carey.
