alice worked too mcuh
she worked like 15 hours a day never got a day off
share I'm sure she got some time off. It's just that we never saw it. How else would she have had the time to date Sam the butcher?
Anyway, her job never seemed that hard. We rarely saw her anywhere but in the kitchen where she dispensed advice and made quips all day long.
One of her job perks was all those free vacations that she took with the Brady family. I never understood why a family would take their housekeeper on vacation anyway or why Alice would want to go. You'd think she would've used the time off to pursue her own interests.
I thought it was weird they took her on vacations, too. I bet Carol told Mike that unless Alice came along, it wouldn’t have been much of a relaxing vacation for her [Carol]. Either that, or the Brady’s felt she was so much a part of the family that it seemed natural to have her along. But, if that was the case, why wouldn’t Alice eat with them at mealtime, too?

Why did they need Alice? Those kids, especially the older ones should have been able to cook, do laundry, clean the house. Mike and Carol too. Did Carol even work?
shareI remember that Carol and Alice went grocery shopping together and Carol would sometimes be in the kitchen, presumably helping with food prep. It’s not hard to believe that there was enough work, in a family of that size, to go around. Absent Alice the kids probably would have had more chores, the house would have been a bit more unkempt and they would have had fewer home-cooked meals.
