If the show were made today what do you think it would be like and what would they have in the show?

Now (2020) it probably wouldn't work as the Cancel Culture is doing everything in their power to see that history is erased.

So you are saying the premise of time is fixed would be changed so that the CCs could erase history. That concept with the unintended consequences would be a good series. Similar concept to short story The Sound of Thunder.

No. I'm saying the real-life CC would never allow a series that talks about history they don't want people to acknowledge.

The main difference I think they would make would be for Doug and Tony to have some sort of micro cameras implanted on their person (possibly in the form of contact lenses). These cameras would transmit Images from Doug and Tony’s perspective back through the time tunnel. The reason I think this change would be necessary is because it was always kind of too unrealistic that the control room received television like images as though there were some sort of mythical film crew following Doug and Tony around.
