If The Time Tunnel were made today what would it be like?
If the show were made today what do you think it would be like and what would they have in the show?

sharePlenty of CGI and social consciousness. Add a female to the mix. Maybe a more serious tone.
Oh, and Doug and Tony would be verrry old ;-)
Don't forget the obligatory emo teenager. They must include one of those.
shareWhile being PC today, the past was horrifically not PC. My condolences for any woman sent back in time.
shareIt could be interesting, maybe intriguing. Producers should be fans of the original. Dig seeing how they'd do the underground Tic Toc Installation and the Tunnel itself. Still like their original production, which had certain intimate touches with the Tunnel Personal.
They could have an episode where they end up in VietNam, right before a notorious village assault.
They appear in Dallas about an hour before the Kennedy assassination.
End up in the 1917 Russian Revolution. Tony wonders if Socialism could work. Doug, not so much.
They travel millions of centuries ahead to discover the Oceans have dried up (can't take voyages to Sea Bottoms), demolished future cities & throw a few gigantic scorpions. They try to figure when and how this happened.
Take Over
On the DVD set there is a copy of a 2002 pilot for a new series that never took off and they did do the underground installation. They even made it similar to the original..

The hokey special effects were a bummer
It obviously cost a lot to make so why go cheap at the end. When someone went into the tunnel, they went in 5 or 10 feet and you saw their shadow against the back wall of the tunnel .
Instead, why not extend the tunnel set 10 or 15 feet. At the end, a sliding door with a slight drop with padding to break the fall. The person would look like they vanished into the air instead of all the hokey Voyage type pyrotechnics & smoke.
Done right, a movie would be great. Even a series like The Flash shows it could be great on tv
it would be a pile of cultural marxist trash, it would have an intersectionalist message(everything is the fault of white men) and heavy handed propaganda about enviromentalism and imperialism, oh and the glory of communism and socialism(i.e. like the russian revolution episode of Young Indiana Jones)
shareyou haven't ever been with a girl, have you?
shareIt would have no snazzy theme music and opening credits and like most other shows that virtually go straight into the drama with the credits on screen.
shareWe'll find out tonight.
"Timeless" premiers at 10:00 PM EST.
Hoping for the best.

How is it like The Time Tunnel?
shareNot much like The Time Tunnel, other than it's about time travel.
In particular, this one is about preventing/fixing changes to history, which were impossible on TTT. And they are not "lost in time"; rather, they're under full control. As long as they can get back to their time machine. In addition, unlike TTT, they have valid reasons for always traveling to some critical point in history.
The pilot had some flaws, but I'm hoping for better things to come.
Oh cool........ I hope the show has some success.
There has been a couple of failed pilots for shows like this, including the 2002 reboot of The Time Tunnel which didn't do too well..
Actually what you described reminds me a hell of a lot of the show Seven Days.
I just wish they could sort out the music rights for that show and put it on bluray or DVD or something.
It would suck.
