Age of fans?

Just wondering what the age is of Monkees fans. I'm 46 and have loved them since I was about 5. I still have the vinyl records and play them too.

I'm 23 years old now, and I've been a fan of the show since I was 18, and a fan of the music (well, at least a handful of the really well-known songs, since before I started watching the show, I hadn't been exposed to any Monkees tune any more obscure than "A Little Bit Me, a Little Bit You". Which is, you know, only played on oldies radio a little less frequently than "Last Train to Clarksville", "I'm a Believer", and "Daydream Believer". I was, however, with the possible exception of "Clarksville" and the show's theme song, head-over-heels in love with every Monkees song I knew of at the time. Especially "Daydream Believer") since before I can remember.

I want...I want...I WANT EVERYTHING I'VE EVER SEEN IN THE MOVIES!

I'm 28 and I've been a hardcore fan since I was 20. I remember watching the show all the time when I was a kid too. I've met Micky, Davy and Peter and seen them perform as the Monkees last year. And I have tickets to see Micky, Davy and Mike next month!

I'm 31 and recently discovered my love of the band, and their music. I'm obsessed with 1960's, and my mum, who was a fan back then, bought me a cd for christmas, and my obsession began.

My favourite member is Micky. I adore his voice.

I'm 21. Watched the show endlessly as a kid (my parents knew a trip to the library only means getting the Monkees videos) and then loved their music. First band I was really into (still am!). Seeing them in concert is on my bucket list and will hopefully happen before any of the others pass away.

Basically been a fan since I was 5 or 6

I just goes to show groups like the Monkees, Beatles, Jackson 5, and the Motown groups will always have timeless appeal.

I'm Hawaiian age, Five-O. Fifty. When I was a kid, I use to watch the Monkees on Saturday morning religiously. I hated it when they cancelled. After that, weekends were never the same.

Readiness is all.

I'm 40 and I've been a fan since I was about 10. I discovered the show on I think MTV. I thought it was a new show. Lol I told my dad about it and he got excited saying how he loved them back in the 60s.

I'm 58, and have been a huge fan since day one on a Monday night in September 1966. My first concert was The Monkees (minus Peter) in the summer of 1969.

I envy you. It must have been cool to see all 4 of them together. I saw Peter & Micky recently and it was amazing. They brought down the house. I'll never forget it.

I'm a lifelong fan. I'm 48 and cannot remember when there was a time that the Monkees did not exist. Profound to imagine.

My younger sister and I were in our mid-teens when "The Monkees" hit the air and we became fans.

We had very little money, but Mom and Dad bought us the first album; they would be gone to their jobs by the time we were getting ready to go to school, and we would play that album every morning. When the second one was released, they made sure that we had that, too.

We saved our allowance to send away for a banner; it wasn't glossy paper, just black printed on red. We were allowed to put it on the bedroom wall. Later, when we bought teen magazines, we were allowed to decorate the walls with our favorite teen idols.

I think my parents always loved the music we were listening to; they would have the car radio tuned to teen hits. No, they didn't like everything, but they did like most of it.

My father died in the mid-Seventies, but I imagine that he would have continued enjoying contemporary music. Consider that, in the Eighties, my mother and I regularly watched "Headbangers' Ball" on MTV (back when it was worth something). I guess they were very young at heart; she still is, even as she nears 90.

On the weekends, I tune in at 11 p.m. to catch two episodes of the series Saturday and two on Sunday. I'd love to have the series on videotape though I know I'd probably have to settle for DVDs, which are far too expensive for me. So, I watch it on Channel 269 and sometimes on YouTube.

I still have all of the vinyl albums and continue loving the music. I probably appreciate it even more now than back then when we were surrounded by such an amazing variety of music. The songs continue to impress me.

I love the surrealism of the show and the sheer craziness; a lot of imagination, cleverness and kookiness went into the show. Just seeing the guests is a real treat! Maybe I, too, remain young at heart.

However, I place a barrier in the early '90s when it comes to music, TV, movies and more.

BTW: I'm closing in on 65.
