Age of fans?
Just wondering what the age is of Monkees fans. I'm 46 and have loved them since I was about 5. I still have the vinyl records and play them too.

shareI'm 56 and have loved them since I was 13. I met most of my friends by being their fan through being penpals--no such thing as email--had to do everything via snail mail. Later they all moved here to my city after they graduated from college and we still go to any concert by any of The Monkees if they play anywhere near to our city.
shareit wasnt that long ago micky used to ask the litle kids up on stage to dance with im durng i'm believer i think it was. he hasnt done it in a while.
shareI'm 50, African American and female. I have loved them since I first heard their music at a boy's house when I was a teen. He had one of their albums in his room and I played it. They were showing repeats of the TV show in the seventies on channel 11 I think, so I started watching and boy was I hooked. Watching an early episode right now on Antenna TV channel 5.2.
shareI'm in my twenties. As a young child I was introduced to The Monkees by my mother who was a teenager in the sixties. They have been among my favorites for most of my life. Even though I mostly like music from later years, The Monkees have a fresh, modern, and realistic sound. Their music was ahead of their time compared to that of most other artists in the sixties. The Monkees are just the right combination of youth and a classic touch, making them appealing to several generations at once.
shareI'm 13. X3 Got introduced to them last week by my mom. She also introduced me to the Beatles, so I have to thank her for making life possible..lol

I'm 19 and I love the Monkees! So many catchy songs and a great TV series plus movie!
Slightly worn but dignified, and not too old for sex!
I had just turned 13 a few months before the show debuted and I was IN LOVE. I used my babysitting money to buy 16 Magazine and Tiger Beat so I could plaster their pictures all over my room. Althought the infatuation has diminished, I still enjoy them and their music.
shareI'm 24 and I became a fan when I saw their ABC special in 1996. My Mom was watching it and I was in the same room. We went on a hunt for their episodes on VHS literally the day after. I developed a crush on Micky because he was funny. He was my first "old man crush".
I met him in Dec. of 2008 and I was totally starstruck. He said hi to me and I just stared.
I met Davy last year.
2 down and 2 more to go!
Now my dream would be to see all 4 of them live but that doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Almost 43 and my 13 and 9 year old daughter love them too!
shareLoved 'em as a kid. I'm approaching 38. I've all the CD re-releases and the DVD season sets. And "Head", which really needs to be re-released in 1.81:1 anamorphic - especially as the existing DVD release shows some film restoration took place. Really good restoration given the color saturation level...
