Age of fans?
Just wondering what the age is of Monkees fans. I'm 46 and have loved them since I was about 5. I still have the vinyl records and play them too.

shareMy parents hated the Monkees, but they had no taste.
shareMy mother was a great fan of The Monkees . Sghe favored Davy Jones and his sexy eye brows lol lol! My dad says its junk. There goes his taste out the window.
shareLol shoopies. That's exactly the way it was for me! my mom loves davy jones, and my dad liked their music, but not their show. He thought it was stupid. He sux, lol!
shareI am 2nd generation fan, got into them as a preteen just before the 20th anniversary tour. I'm almost 31. Thinking of some fans ranges. I have an old vhs tape of the 3 Monkees' appearing on Sally Jessie Raphael Show back in 1987. I recall that many of the members of the audience were definitely 55+ at the time, of course, there were young people and middle-aged people as well. I thought it was cool to see a bunch of older ladies as Monkees fans. :) One of them even said she liked "swinging with the Monkees." Maybe some of this will be uploaded to YouTube. Maybe some of those same ladies are still fans, even if they might be over 70 now :)
shareWell, I was born the year they debuted on TV, but in the land of reruns about 10 years later, I discovered them and have been a fan since. I am currently watching the 2 years on DVD from Netflx and I'm loving it! They were sooooo cute, lol. This is nonsequential, but here they are in order of cuteness according to me, lol.
1. Davy
2. Peter
3. Mickey
4. Mike

I had just turned 12 when I first heard of them in '67....my girlfriends were bringing Tiger Beat, 16, and other teen magazines to class. Then I started to watch the show, and became a fan myself. By '70 they weren't quite around anymore ya know? Who'd have thought that someday there would be a resurgence with MTV and all that? And of course there's this internet nowadays....so well I got back into the fandom about 7 years ago. I am 52, and have a whole life, but I still am a fan of theirs.
shareI will be 31 in June and I have been a fan since I was 3 years old.
share45- We never missed a show when it first ran on Television. My sister and her cousin had a club house in her back yard. They loved the Monkees. The Club house was full of Monkees posters. My sister was in love with Micky and my cousin was in love with Davy. They used a Beatle poster as their door matt to wipe their feet.
One night us boy's,(I was the youngest) decided to raid the club house. We tore down all the Monkee Posters and hung the door matt,(The Beatle Poster) on the wall. You never heard such screaming and crying the next morning!
I have to admitt that I felt a little gulty. I was actually a monkee's fan but went along because I wanted to fit in with the older boy's. I have remained a fan to the very day, but I have had to live with this overwelming gult all these many years!!!!!! It feels good to finally release my shame among so many friends.

I'm 22..... I started watching the TV show about a year ago.... It's BRILLIANT!
I've been listening to the music since I was, well, seven or eight. I've always been that odd kid who doesn't know anything about "popular music" and would rave about mostly late fifties and early sixties stuff.... How ironic that as I get older I find myself more into the late Sixties, early seventies.
Still, I'm the only one at my school who listens to Jim Croce. That much hasn't changed.
I have loved the Monkees since I was about 5 and I saw the re-runs on TV and I am 24. They're a great group, one of my favorites and they were a huge part of my childhood. I loved the TV show and grew to love the music as well.

I'm 26. I've loved them for 14-15 years! (since I was 11 or 12) I got into heavy metal when I was 15, and I kinda backed off. A month of so ago, I downloaded the whole Monkees discography, and it's like Monkeemania all over again, lol! I'll always love The Monkees! I also have all the episodes on dvd. The first season my mom bought for me, but I forgot how much. The second season my fiancee downloaded! Plus I have lots of memorbilia on them!
sharei'm 21, i became a fan when i was about 12.
i love them all equally because it doesn't feel organic when even one is missing. ' Used to come as one, now it comes as four' at least for me...
in regards to the boys physically, IMO going from very fine to well less fine:
1. Mike
2. Micky (only with curls)
3. Peter
4. Davy

I couldn't hear my own footsteps. It was the walk of a dead man.

Here I Am you Rocket Queen
Good for you!
I am 55 and have loved them from day 1. My son is 14 and he loves them; they are one of only three vocal groups he will condescend to listen to.
