A proto-Enterprise?

The meteor rejector gizmo has several features that are found in the USS Enterprise. The two pods on stalks. The circular part at the far end, if rotated 90 degrees, is similar to the disc like section of the Enterprise, but not as sleek.

Also evident in the spacecraft shape, a stubby Enterprise shape.

Good observation. The spaceship design is very Enterprise-like indeed, it certainly may have inspired Matt Jefferies. Seen from the ground looking up, it is also reminiscent of the derelict in Alien.

Aside from the ending the whole thing has a very Star Trek feel to it.
