I have been a huge fan of Russ Meyer for the past 30 years and this film is one of his greatest. I remember the first time that I saw it i was mesmerized by the first 10 minutes : the narrator's voice (shown as a sound wave) the shots of the women and the split second editing, the go-go club, the sports cars, etc. It's a tragic loss to American film that he's gone. Get his autobiography!!!
Leave me to my winter of leather my underground work.....
I will have to read his autobiography, and 'Vixen', 'Mondo Topless' and '...Super Dolls' etc are all onmy to-watch list!

I plead "Guilty" your honour.
I am a bad man, but it was those bad girls that made me the way I am today.

OOO! OOO! OOO!
I saw this film for the first time at the University of Oklahoma, of all places! My friend was teaching freshman English and programmed Faster, Pussycat for his students. (Yes, there were protests from the conservative sorority girls.)
After seeing it, I began writing a script for a noirish road movie that I shot for my video class in the art school.
Flash forward, the film I made got me into a prestigious program at the Whitney Museum of American Art in NYC. I am currently planning a DVD version with commentary. I now live in Santa Fe, NM and still produce independent video.
This movie inspired me like few others in the pantheon. This is up there with Hitchcock, Ford, SIrk, Lynch, Deren, Brackage, Waters, Haynes, et al.
Tura Satana is a goddess!
Best Movie Ever.
shareThere are plenty of fans of "Faster," maybe they just don't have computers. My friend owns an original VHS tape of "Faster" that he bought in person from Russ Meyer about 10 years ago, and it's autographed by Meyer (he paid something like $80 for it). He says he has watched it at least 27 times. This is unquestionably one of the 10 best films of the 1960s. (And that puts in in the rarefied atmosphere of such films as Psycho, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Lawrence of Arabia, The Graduate, To Kill A Mockingbird, Night of the Living Dead, Easy Rider, etc. "Faster" deserves to be grouped with these, yet is usually forgotten by most critics.
shareI love Faster Pussycat! It's the best Russ Meyer film for me by far. I find some of his other work a bit hard to watch as it's a little too misogynistic for my liking.
I love John Waters too and it's easy to see what an inspiration Meyers has been to him.

I have a headache dammit.
What? You said we could say anything.
ISCREAM22 HAS SPOKEN!!
I'm here! Big fan of Tura and Russ Meyer.
Faster is a cult-classic but totally unknown (and unavailable) in Spain...as many others.
Yeah, right on, this IS a cult classic, so it's not like this movie is just popping off the shelf down at your local Blockbuster Video store. Nowadays people have to, like, "hear" about this movie, then hunt it down. Somewhere. Like the man said in "School of Rock": 'If you wanna' be hardcore, you gotta' live hardcore!'
Cult movies rule!!!
