Who made the best Darrin?

I thought they were both dicks.

York always looked more likable. Sargent looked stuffy.

Dick York was far better.

It's already been mentioned that Dick Sargent was out and gay in real life. He basically played a bitchy gay Queen Darrin, not a heterosexual hubby. He was too caustic.

I didn't find Sargeant caustic/bitchy actually. I thought he was the more mellow one. The first one was the uptight one who was always panicking.

Great point. York would get all flustered and angry. Sargeant had a more calm demeanor.
