the addams or the munsters

Weird thing is I find The Munsters funny but I love the Addams Family more but I never really laugh to much at them. I think wow they are so awesome, I wish I was there lol They seem more real and grand. I laugh at certain things that would happen but I laugh at the Munster so much better because they just seem to be so stupid. Their jokes were just so right there but with the Addams Family some of the jokes you have to be smart to catch. I seem to find something new when I watch the episode again. But yeah anyway I watch the Addams Family more and I connect to them more. But I do like The Munsters too but in a different way.

I'll sit through an episode of the Addams Family trying to find where the sophistocated, cerebral humor is that the fanbase keeps claiming the show has in order to put down the Munsters. I find the dialog on the Addams Family obvious and not all that funny.

MY favorite was Al Lewis.
However I preferred the Addams Family much more for the show and the characters. I loved the Addams family house.

The Munsters had tighter writing with more scene changes and outdoor filming, whereas The Addams Family only went outdoors once (the driver's license episode). Both series had some fantastic episodes. My favorite Addams was the one where Lurch's mother comes to visit, and thinks Morticia and Gomez are a maid and butler who need firing; the best Munsters is the one where Herman replaces Eddie's robot and winds up doing slapstick at his school's science day. Al Lewis is very interesting to watch, but John Astin makes me laugh just by his presence. Both shows deserved a 3rd season, but were knocked off by strong competition from color shows during their second seasons, The Munsters by Batman, and The Addams Family by Hogan's Heroes. Both shows had episodes with similar plots to each other.How many times did Mortician say the mail is in? Morticia beats Lily, thought Eddie was a better actor than Pugsley. Lisa Loring improved and would have had more air time if The Addams Family had been renewed. Fester was essentially a low grade Curley Howard (of the 3 Stooges). The Morticia-Gomez French talk, which shows up late in season one, was fantastic. I loved when Herman and Grampa would scheme on adventures (the best comedy team along with The Skipper and Gilligan; Agarn and O'Rourke). The Munsters was better. There aren't any Munster episodes that I really dislike. I wasn't wild about Morticia's twin Opelia, who dragged down the last Addams episode.
