Pretty Good(not enough Sellers though) till the end. Why would the Princess help them frame the Inspector! Niven's character decieved her and was going to steal her diamond, but he was still so charming. So, she not only forgave him,but sends a innocent man to prison!! Ugggg! It ruined the whole movie for me. I was gonna give it a 7, but I dropped to a 5!

shareI started to feel that way during the trial scene but then I thought they fixed it by showing Sellers enjoying the notoriety and saying he'd be cleared as soon as the next robbery occurred.
shareThat's a nice little bit of work Sellers does in the final scene, initially looking mortified, then contemplating life as a dashing, sex symbol rogue, and contentedly settling into it.
shareI feel pity for Clouseau as well, the ending, I think, was quite logical to the miserable character nonetheless.

I think this is by far the most underrated of the Pink Panther movies, and I loved the ending! (Maybe it's just my sadistic sense of humor, but I LOVED seeing the "bad guy" get away and the "good guy" get sent to jail.)

That doesn't sound like she wanted him to steal the diamond; it sounds like she wanted it to APPEAR that he stole it. Why would she steal it if she wanted HIm to?
