Possibly the most over-rated film ever made.

This will cause much foaming at the mouth, I'm sure, and some people will call for the rope and demand a hangin', but I think To Kill a Mockingbird is the most over-rated, over-praised, over-evaluated, and over-esteemed film ever made.

People, it's just a hokey old B/W movie that tried to be the last gasp of the 50s, before the 60s really got going. Sentimental Pap. Formulaic, by-the-numbers mock-"Down Home" cliche.

If it hadn't had the exploitive race angle, it would have been exposed for what it is - a b-grade programmer.

Just finished watching this 1962 film for the first time 53 years after its release. Beautiful film.

It's B&W but I recall that I never noticed this other than the initial introductory narration scene.

I've watched a number of highly acclaimed films only decades after its original release. Many have not stood the test of time, and our thinking now.

Films that stand out include TKAMB, Cape Fear (another Peck film, though I admit at the back of my mind whilst watching this, the B&W effect remained), and 12 Angry Men.
