"Go Set a Watchman" - Who will portray Atticus & Scout in the sequel?

"Go Set a Watchman" - will be interesting to see who gets the movie rights. A sequel to "To Kill a Mockingbird" is inevitable. So the question is: Who portrays the older Atticus Finch and the adult Scout in the sequel?

Just about all of the cast is deceased with the notable exception of Robert Duvall. Gregory Peck is gone. Mary Badham, who portrayed Scout, hasn't acted since the 1960s although she has one credit in 2005.

How about for Uncle Jack. He has a bigger role than Atticus.

Wasn't the book universally panned? I doubt they'd make a movie out of it.

Dragonzord! Mastodon! Pterodactyl! Triceratops! Saber Toothed Tiger! Tyrannosaurus!

It was panned mostly because of the whole change in the Atticus character. It's still a good story nevertheless. That's the number one criticism I've read. I think it's dumb if they decide not to adapt the book over THAT. So Atticus has turned racist, big deal. People DO change over time and can develop some racist qualities, and he certainly wasn't even a heavy racist like those who tried to get at him for defending Tom Robinson.

I haven't yet read Watchman but plan to. So, maybe I shouldn't contribute here, but I think it's worth pointing out that the word "racism" has so many disparate meanings today that any assertion he has "developed some racist qualities" needs explanation. I mean, a neighbor of mine was called a racist once because he advocated a smaller increase in school lunch subsidies than a certain political party at the time was proposing. I better read the book.

There's an audio version on Youtube uploaded by a few users, so you don't even have to buy the book. Just sit back and listen.  I took a view at it partially several months ago and never finished. But I plan to go through the whole thing in it's entirely soon.

If they ever do an adaption of this book, I prefer it to be a sequel to an updated adaption of "To Kill a Mockingbird" than to this movie. For one, this movie was released more than fifty years ago and certainly looks it's time period. A sequel to it from THIS time period would look and feel weird, it would be best to make a GSAW adaption to a NEWER version of "Mockingbird" released soon before it. Second, this movie cut out so many characters that return in "Watchman" and I think it makes sense movie-wise if we had saw them during the story of "Mockingbird" which adult Scout constantly reflects back to. It'll be so weird seeing Uncle Jack and Aunt Alexandria pop up now all of a sudden and we missed them in the first time, and a significance of their returns is we see how they changed now twenty years later. I'd like to have see them during the story of "Mockingbird". So if they're going to adapt GSAW, then they should re-adapt the first book again. I'd love to see a version closer to the book anyway. The original movie was OK, but it did not satisfy me too much.
