At some point in our lives, we have called this title "To Kill A Mockingjay" and then felt really stupid about it. Please don't tell me I'm the only one

Me neither. I have loved this book since I was a child and never said or heard the title being mispronounced.

No, but I've joked that "Tequila Sunrise" was a sequel to "Tequila Mockingbird!"

No. Never did. I grew up knowing what a mockingbird was. So what is a "mockingjay"?

You will probably disagree. That's the nature of discussions -- they have two sides.
