No-one has really said much about him. I though he was very good, but more to the point he had an absolutely stunning voice!! I just love the second song they do in the jail (?), his voice is just fantastic. What does everyone else think?

He was pretty wooden as an actor. Then again John Wayne just pretty much plays the same character in each movie. Sorry Duke fans, but can you see John Wayne in the Dude role? "What could a man do with hands like that?" Dean Martin sold me that line with his anguish.
Angie Dickinson and Dean Martin made the movie for me. They at least could act and get into character.
Uh, Rick Nelson wouldn't have walked off the set of "Leave It to Beaver." He would've walked off the set of "The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet." And a previous poster gave short shrift to Frankie Avalon's film career. He appeared in several beach-oriented flicks, usually opposite Annette Funicelo. Those movies were often pretty awful, but they were profitable.
