I really liked the way Christopher Lee played Dracula.
Normally actors who play Dracula are very slow and their movement is stiff, but Lee played it like a human. It was nice to see him walk around as everyone else in the movie does.

shareYou hit the nail on the head there for sure. That was the very first thing I noticed as soon as I saw him on screen.
shareHe ain't no Lugosi but he aight.
shareLee was far superior to Lugosi.
You think so? Lugosi feels to me like he could be the actual Dracula. His Hungarian looks, and accent, embody what Stoker put on the page. Christopher Lee wasn't bad by any stretch, but he seems altogether too British for the role. Lugosi has a restrained brutality that Lee doesn't, and a strange combination of age and decay mixed with vitality and strength that feels so spot on to what Dracula is. It really feels to me like he isn't even acting, and he simply is Dracula, in Hollywood to make the film.
shareLee depended a lot on makeup for his presentation. Lugosi didn't have those resources available when he did the role.
