I just watched Rebel Without a Cause a day ago. ------ And the movie is a time less classic. ----- If there were a remake, could it ever match the original??? Even if it couldn't, I'd like to see if the remake would be any good. ----- You never know until they film the movie. ------ Rusty
shareThe classic, captivating and practically perfect "Rebel Without a Cause" should proceed to perpetuity without a superseding straight-up remake, 60 years on. However, a more current take on the subject matter could be interesting. Perhaps a stand-alone project with only modest or indirect tribute to the earlier film would work. I see Charlie Hunnam and maybe Kristen Stewart, Emma Stone, or Natalie Portman as potential leads in "Rebel Without a Clue" [apologies to Tom Petty :-)], a serious dramatic film. As an afterthought, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart would send the box office to the moon.
