Absolutely.
As a matter of fact, It's my favourite movie of all time.
I'm one of the chosen few, Who went ahead & fell for you.
I'm out of bold, I'm out of touch, I fell too fast, I feel too much.
I thought that you might have, some advise to give, on how to be, insensitive.
Gotcha!
It's an excellent movie, but I would have to go with Sunset Blvd. for that honor.
Death is...whimsical today.
^agreed. Sunset Blvd is the best, but On the Waterfront comes a close second.

I can hardly believe that only two people have mentioned Sydney Lumet's "12 Angry Men." But really this is a silly question, they were so many great films in the 50's - "On the Waterfront" certainly being one of them.
Also someone mentioned "The Third Man" which is not an American film.
"To love one's self is the beginning of a life-long romance." -Lord Arthur in "An Ideal Husband"
12 Angry Men

Princess and the Frog - 9/10
I think Sunset Boulevard and On The Waterfront are the best films of the 50s.But this decade has so many great films like 12 Angry Men,All About Eve,From Here To Eternity,Rear Window,Streetcar Named Desire,Singing In The Rain, which makes it really difficult to choose.
