Does anyone know any other chick flicks set in Italy?
My friend is turning sixteen and we are going to Rome and Venice for March Break. But for her party I'm trying to find chick flicks set in Italy. Any suggestions?

shareAvanti is a comedy with romance and wonderful Italian scenery and it is in colour. It has a gentle pace and I would recommend it. Dont know if you class it as a chick-flick.
shareAnother vote for Enchanted April, that has chick-flick written all over it but even us guys can enjoy it. LOL someone mentioned Patton, yeah that really fits this category!
shareAvanti's a good choice. It's more on the comedy side of things but Jack Lemmon and Juliet Mills' performances are worth the viewing. Both are top notch in this one. Here's a list that might prove useful:

And yes, I realize that the TC created this thread more than three years ago but everyone else continued listing their favorites regardless.
try BEN HUR...pml
bring on the empty horses !
A MONTH BY THE LAKE - shot entirely at stunning Lake Como.
shareWell, you are probably back from Italy now.....!
But for your post-voyage viewing, I would recommend "Come September" with Rock Hudson and Gina Lollobrigida, and "It Started in Naples" with Clark Gable and Sophia Loren.
Enjoy !
"A bride without a head !"
"A wolf without a foot !"
Sophia Loren all the way! I'd also recommend "Sunflower" although much of that movie is set in Russia.
There's a relatively recent (2002) film called "Heaven" by Tom Tykwer, starring Cate Blanchett, set in Rome & the surrounding countryside. Absolutely breathtaking scenery.
For an English language chick flick set in Italy, I highly recommend "Room with a View".
Summertime (1955) with Katharine Hepburn, is set in Venice. It's in Technicolor.
Coincidentally, she also falls into the water (a canal, of course).
Sorry, but Roman Holiday is MOST DEFINITELY not a "chick flick".
shareI know it's been a long time, but, When In Rome with Kristen Bell is cute
shareAgree with the comments about Summertime and Enchanted April. Definitely chick flicks. And wasn't there a Diane Lane movie set in Italy a few years ago that was a romance? A couple of other candidates, though they aren't exactly chick flicks: Death in Venice, set in, well, Venice, and The Talented Mr. Ripley, filmed in Rome and somewhere in Northern Italy.
