THS IS NOT A KIDS MOVIE
Okay, I'm 15, in high school, and can stomach freddy/jason/chucky. So I saw this last scene with charnabog (i killed that spelling) and, i mean, its like, horror, not thriller, not a little odd,HORROR!

Freddy cruger, jason and chucky are like happy meals.
Stomach Shutter on a big screen tv, master sound 3 in the night and you have something that can be compared to a Calsone Mangnum.*
*(Dunno if that pizza exists out there but its a doubble calsone for anyone who wanna know.)
Just like that time i forgot how to sit down!
"Family Guy"
just face the facts - it was a film intended to show what kinds of effects disney could produce in their artwork. it has no proper meaning, except to impress people with amazing animation. Disney must have so much money producing this, and people out their are taking it seriously. just relax and enjoy the film

i think everyone will agree that was very well put.

I dont remember much of this movie, i only remember some parts like the face of the wizard, the walking brooms, and mickey making the water go up.
shareSheesh, how'd this get turned into a conservative/liberal thing?
I loved the movie as a kid. Even the Bald Mountain part...but, yeah, It's not exactly just meant for children. Put the Bald Mountain scene on slow-motion and you see topless nipple showing demon chicks that were way scarier than the giant "devil" from a child's view. I mean, fangs and nipples!! Oh, the humanity!!!
And the Greek part...it's been a while since I've seen the movie, that one wasn't just for kids. But, overall, it's still an amazing feat of a movie.
I swear, It's an authentic reproduction!
You don't have to be conservative to not like this movie!! I am partly conservative and this is probably my favorite disney movie. I would watch it over and over and over again when i was a kid.... Just suck it up and watch the movie, because life has good and bad, you just take it as it is... just like the movie.
shareUm, I partly agree and disagree with Pinkcandles89. Yes, in life, for the most part--suck it up. But in movies, which is the greatest thing about them, you get to choose if you like it or not. So, if you don't like it as a whole, then it's your loss, but you shouldn't be forced to like something. But if you do like it, then there ya go.
I swear, It's an authentic reproduction!

Naah Im not saying you have to watch it, but if you do watch it you should prbbly be aware that there will be parts that are good and bad....
shareI have loved this movie since I was like 6 years old, and Night on Bald Mountain has always been my favorite scene. The only thing that creeped me out as a kid were the dancing brooms. I think kids can enjoy this movie, it IS a family film.
"Herm-own-ninny."
"Close enough," she said, catching Harry's eye and grinning.
Do people simply ignore my post? No one seems to care about demon-nipple-showing-flying-chicks in a kids movie.
Don't get me wrong, I love this movie. I just am really wondering if my posts are invisible or something.

I mean, fangs and nipples!! Oh, the humanity!!!

Didn't Chernabog have fangs and nipples as well?
I saw it from when I was a toddler untill a preteen, and I thought it was a masterpeice.
I'm always right.
Ok, so I guess my posts aren't invisible, people just don't care (wow, I feel so much better...).
Well, I just thought I'd tell people, it's not my fault if they just don't care about it. So, bye.

But---when it was rereleased in theatres, my husband and I went to see it-we had no kids at the time, but the theater was filled with kids-you could have heard a pin drop through the whole movie. The kids seemed to be enraptured by the music and animation.
shareConnie, this guy is a troll and is an idiot. Bernardo, get lost because out of thousands of people you are one out of ten. Bye Bye!

Well I'm sorry for biting your head off but I had one of those bad days yesterday that everything that goes wrong, can. It's just that this is such a great film and an all time favorite of mine, and when you came in here trashing it, it pissed me off. But as they say, different strokes for different folks.

"This IS a children's movie!!! If it wasn't, it wouldn't be rated G!!!!!!! Common sense people!!!!!"
Ok i know that post was made over a year ago, but Ratings back then were very inaccurate. If you've ever seen the movie Tommy, or know about or listen to the who, you'd know that movie was rated pg, which translates to some mildly suggestive scenes. That movie included full drug use, sexual abuse, human torture, scenes of death, and child molestation. That deserves an R rating. If this was released today, it would probably be rated pg with disturbing content.

"back then"?
The ratings system is incredibly flawed. You can pay off the MPAA to get a lower rating. You can say *beep* only one time (and not in a sexual context) in a movie before it is rated R. In the same PG-13 movie, you can have assloads of gore and violence and it's perfectly accepted. One nipple and it's automatically an R rating.
Don't ever base anything about any movie on the MPAA ratings. They are a complete load of sh-t.
Also, Fantasia is 100% not made for children. That does not mean it is made for only adults and children cannot enjoy it, absolutely not. It means In 1940, when cinema and animation were very young and just being finessed, Disney Studios intended to entertain adult audiences. Not children. Get it? Animation =/= kids' movie. Get the F-ck over it already. I'm sick of hearing this f-cking argument. It has no basis whatsoever in reality, and only in peoples screwed up vision of how things are "supposed" to be.
haha man i was addicted to this movie so much as a kid, i had two copies
and i try to watch them now and the tape is too worn out
if this movie isn't for children why did i watch it in middle school? (6th grade)
People may not remember what we say here tonight, but by God they'll remember what we did.

I'm 19. Night on Bald Mountain still scares me. And it's been my favorite vignette of the film since I was about six months old. Know why? Cuz as a kid, I liked that it scared me.
sharePshhh, I watched this when I was young. I'm 15 now, so why would this still scare me? It doesn't.
The only thing that scared me as a kid was when the evil scary guy came out at the end... I would turn it off at that spot. But as I grew up, maybe not when i was 5, maybe not 7, maybe around 8, I would keep watching the movie and get to the end. I loved it.
To the person who said that the naked breasts and the "racist" segment should not be shown to children, why not? Why do we live in a society where learning about such things is shunned? Many artists have shown both of these things, and if we burned their paintings or books, where would be today? Nowhere... and it's important to explain to your children that racism is wrong, so why would this influence them otherwise? It's a movie. And if it did influence them, you're not very good at parenting. Sorry to say it.
Hi, there!
When did you saw this movie? It's from the 40's. Only grown ups saw movies like this. The kids saw short Mickey Mouse-movies.
o_o
You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. Snow White, Bambi, Dumbo, Cinderella... Disney was revving up his kids' empire right then.
Supermodels...spoiled stupid little stick figures mit poofy lips who sink only about zemselves.
i watched this movie all through my childhoop and loved it. if you are 15 and a night on bald mountain scares you that much that might be a problem. As a previous poster pointed out; it's rated G, thus it is probably a kid's movie.
