In my opinion, the only film in history....
That is absolutely perfect. There have been many other films that are fantastic, but this film is the only one for me that hits 100%. Absolutely gorgeous, stunning film, head to toe.

shareWhat makes this film amazing to me is that it was made nearly 80 years ago. No computers, all studio sets (which is pretty remarkable in itself!) and the cast actually had talent. They were all singers, actors, dancers and it shows. I just watched the Blu-Ray last night and it is simply one of those movies that I never get tired of. I think it's a tribute to how well the movie is loved when people who watched it as kids (like me) still enjoy it as adults.
shareI don't think that the Wizard of Oz is perfect per se, but it is an incredible piece of art. It's among the top three musical films ever made. It is embedded in American culture.. perhaps more than any other film ever made. If you've never seen the Wizard of Oz.. in a way... it is not really possible if you live in the US. So many pop culture references that it boggles the mind.
As for the perfect film... I nominate Chinatown.
The wizard of oz had some material taken out I like to see reinserted, but it has touched many generations.
shareWizard of Oz has been ruined by the Mandela Effect. It's a real travesty. They gave the Scarecrow a gun! And changed some of the dialogue.
shareYes, it's a perfect movie. No, it's not the only perfect movie.
shareI like the fact that it's clean and innocent enough to show to young children :).
shareThought it was alright, but I have to admit that scene when they go from black/white to full color in Oz was pretty cool and must have been mindblowing at the time.
shareI loved it, and have watched it at least a dozen times.
