How old are you?

I was just wondering after a discussion with a friend what is the average age of people who have seen and like this film? I'm 24 and like this film, but must admit I found it harder to get into than other Hitchcock films, I'm not sure if it was the age or not... I've seen Notorious and Strangers on a Train and had no problem with those. I just wondered if the people on this board who like this film are made up of silver surfers or younger people like me who can appreciate a good movie regardless of age?

I'm 28 and just watched this movie for the first time last night. I enjoyed it, and I love old movies in general. They're a true escape to another time and place.

i'm 28, and have loved this film since i was probably 18. i find it exciting, well-paced, and very funny. a perfect combination of emotions. i love showing it to people who haven't seen it before, especially younger people who think b/w movies are all "boring".

I'm 15. After seeing all of the movies he made in his american period, I finally decided to start with the british period. I must admit I liked the 39 steps probably less than the two american "remakes", Saboteur and North by Northwest, and that from what I've seen of his british period, I still prefer The Lady Vanishes.

I'm 18, first off I thought this film was great. The acting was better than most of the acting in "thriller" movies made today. My first time seeing a Hitchcock film was in a Cinema class in high school. We watched Psycho, now one of my favorite films. I have been watching Hitchcock movies every opportunity I get now. It's amazing and a shame that such great films such as these classics are hard to find anymore. I just wish more people could appreciate film for more than visual or audible appeal.

i liked this film but i found this less good than some of other early works ( may be coz of the bad copy through which i saw )

only in the anticipation of it

I'm 45, so does that make me "silver"?

But I've loved it since childhood, certainly pre-teen (although I possibly slightly prefer The Lady Vanishes). But both were already pretty old when I first saw them.

Keep an eye out for another 1930s UK thriller called Night Train To Munich, if you ever get the chance.

You're right, it doesn't matter when a film was made as to whether its good or not. There have always been the great, the bad and, mostly, the just OK, from silent through until today.

I also know someone who won't watch B&W, and he's in his thirties! Some people amaze me!
