On the "Scarface" Poster: Osgood Perkins -- Father of Tony "Psycho" Perkins
For movie history buffs.
In 1960, a young movie actor named Anthony(Tony) Perkins made movie history in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho as the unforgettable character, Norman Bates.
Tony Perkins is more famous now, but his father was an actor, too. A stage actor in the main, but an actor who made at least one famous movie in his time -- the original "Scarface"(1932.)
If you look at the poster on this page, in the bottom right corner of the poster, you will see Osgood Perkins. He looks rather like his son Tony...except he had a more prominent, beak-like nose.
Osgood Perkins died of a heart attack fairly young -- when Tony was five years old. So I suppose Tony had "Scarface" as record of his dad. (Osgood plays the older mobster taken out by Scarface; Robert Loggia's role in the remake with Al Pacino.)
